Sunan an-Nasai 2541 (Book 23, Hadith 107) #17152
Charity Leads To Longer Arms

SUMMARY: The Prophet's wives asked who would be the first to follow him in death, and he replied that it would be the one with the longest arms. Sawdah was the first to follow him, as she had the longest arms due to her charitable giving.

It was narrated from 'Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, that the wives of the Prophet "gathered around him and said: "Which of us will be the first to following you (in death)?" He said: "The one of you who has the longest arms". They took a stick and started to measure their arms. But Sawdah was the first one to follow him. She was the one who had the longest arms, because she used to give in charity a great deal.

QUICK LESSONS:
Give generously of your wealth for greater rewards from Allah both here on Earth and beyond . Strive towards being kind & compassionate .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad's wives gathered around him and asked which of them would be the first to follow him in death. He replied that it would be whoever had the longest arms. They took a stick and measured their arms, but Sawdah was found to have the longest due to her generous charity work. This hadith teaches us that those who give generously will receive great rewards from Allah in this life and beyond; even if we cannot see them now, they will come back tenfold when we least expect it. It also shows us how important charity is for Muslims; not only does it help those less fortunate than ourselves but it can also bring us closer to Allah through our good deeds. We should all strive towards being generous with our wealth so that we can reap these rewards both here on Earth and in Paradise after death.
