The Reward of Fasting

SUMMARY: Allah rewards humans for their good deeds, and the reward for fasting is especially great.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet said (that Allah said): "For every good deed that the son of Adam does, he will have (the reward of) ten the like thereof, except for fasting. It is for Me and I shall reward for it.

QUICK LESSONS:
Do good deeds and strive to fast regularly.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us that Allah rewards us for our good deeds. Every time we do something good, we will receive a reward from Allah that is ten times greater than what we did. However, when it comes to fasting, the reward is even greater than this; it is only between Allah and the person who fasts. This means that no matter how small or insignificant our actions may seem to us, they are still valuable in the eyes of Allah and He will always give us a generous reward in return. We should strive to do as many good deeds as possible so that we can reap these rewards from Him.
