Anticipating and Fasting During Ramadan

SUMMARY: The hadith is about not anticipating the month until you see the crescent or complete the number of days, and then to fast until you see the new moon or complete the number of days.

It was narrated from Ribii bin Hirash, from Hudhaifah bin Al-Yaman, that the Messenger of Allah said: "Do not anticipate the month until you see the crescent before it, or you complete the number of days. Then fast until you see the new moon, or you complete the number of days".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about fasting during Ramadan. It teaches us that we should not anticipate when a month begins until we either see the crescent moon or complete 30 days. We should also fast when we either see a new moon or complete 30 days. This means that it is important to be patient and wait for signs before beginning any activity related to Ramadan such as fasting. It also teaches us that it is important to follow Allah's commands even if they are difficult for us because He knows what is best for us in this life and in our afterlife.
