The Sound of Sandals in the Grave

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that when a person is buried, they can still hear the sound of their companions' sandals as they leave.

It was narrated from Anas that the Prophet said: "when a person is placed in his grave and his companions depart from him, he hears the sound of their sandals".
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْوَرَّاقُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا وُضِعَ فِي قَبْرِهِ وَتَوَلَّى عَنْهُ أَصْحَابُهُ إِنَّهُ لَيَسْمَعُ قَرْعَ نِعَالِهِمْ

This hadith teaches us about what happens after death.
