Praying Two Brief Rak'ahs After Subh Prayer

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the practice of praying two brief rak'ahs after the call to Subh prayer and before getting up to pray.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Umar that Hafsah, the Mother of the Believers, told him: that when the Muadhdhin fell silent following the call to Subh prayer and dawn had broken, he would pray two brief rak'ahs before getting up to pray.
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ حَفْصَةَ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَانَ إِذَا سَكَتَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ مِنَ الأَذَانِ لِصَلاَةِ الصُّبْحِ وَبَدَا الصُّبْحُ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُقَامَ الصَّلاَةُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about a practice that was done by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ during his time. It is narrated from 'Abdullah bin Umar that Hafsah, the Mother of the Believers, told him that when the Muadhdhin fell silent following the call to Subh prayer and dawn had broken, he would pray two brief rak'ahs before getting up to pray. This shows us how important it is for Muslims to be consistent in their prayers and not miss any opportunity for worshiping Allah SWT.
