Obeying the Prophet's Command

SUMMARY: The Prophet (pbuh) saw a man driving a sacrificial camel and asked him to ride on it, even though the man was hesitant because it was a sacrificial animal.

Narrated 'Ikrima: Abu Huraira said, "The Prophet saw a man driving a Badana (sacrificial camel). The Prophet (pbuh) said (to him), 'Ride on it'. He replied, 'It is a Badana'. The Prophet again said, 'Ride on it!' Abu Huraira added, 'Then I saw that man riding it, showing obedience to the Prophet (pbuh), and a shoe was (hanging) from its neck'. " Narrated Abu Huraira: From the Prophet: (as above).
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ رَأَى رَجُلاً يَسُوقُ بَدَنَةً، قَالَ ‏"‏ ارْكَبْهَا ‏"‏‏.‏ قَالَ إِنَّهَا بَدَنَةٌ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ ارْكَبْهَا ‏"‏‏.‏ قَالَ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ رَاكِبَهَا يُسَايِرُ النَّبِيَّ وَالنَّعْلُ فِي عُنُقِهَا‏.‏ تَابَعَهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ‏.‏

This hadith is about obeying the commands of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. In this hadith, we learn that when someone is asked to do something by the prophet, they should obey without hesitation or question. The story in this hadith is about how a man was driving a sacrificial camel and hesitated when asked to ride on it by the prophet. However, he eventually obeyed and rode on it anyway. This teaches us that we should always obey what our prophet has commanded us to do without questioning or hesitating. We must remember that our obedience will be rewarded in both this life and in the hereafter if we follow his teachings faithfully.
