Sunan an-Nasai 1616 (Book 20, Hadith 19) #16227
The Value of Persistence in Prayer

SUMMARY: The most beloved deed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was that which was done persistently, and he would pray Qiyam when he heard the rooster.

It was narrated that Masruq said: "I said to 'Aishah: 'Which deed was most beloved to the Messenger of Allah ?' She said: 'That which was done persistently'. I said: 'At what part of the night did he pray Qiyam?' She said: 'When he heard the rooster'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray consistently and on time each day. Be mindful of your prayer times and strive for devotion in your prayers.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of persistence in prayer. It is narrated by Masruq that he asked 'Aishah what deed was most beloved to the Messenger of Allah, and she said that it was that which was done persistently. This means that even if we are not able to pray at a certain time or with a certain amount of devotion, we should still strive for consistency in our prayers. Additionally, 'Aishah mentioned that the Prophet Muhammad would pray Qiyam when he heard the rooster crow. This indicates how important it is for us to be mindful of our prayer times and make sure we are praying on time each day.
