Sunan an-Nasai 1585 (Book 19, Hadith 30) #16196
Wealth & Children as a Trial from Allah

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) picking up his grandchildren, Hasan and Husain, while they were walking and stumbling in their red shirts. He then reminded people that wealth and children are only a trial from Allah.

It was narrated from Ibn Buraidah that: His father said: "While the Messenger of Allah was on the minbar, Al-Hasan and Al-Husain came, wearing red shirts, walking and stumbling. He came down and picked them up, then said: 'Allah has spoken the truth: Your wealth and your children are only a trial'. I saw these two walking and stumbling in their shirts, and I could not be patient until I went down and picked them up'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's love for his grandchildren, Hasan and Husain. While he was on the minbar delivering a sermon, he saw them walking and stumbling in their red shirts. He could not resist going down to pick them up himself. After this incident, he reminded people that wealth and children are only a trial from Allah. This means that although having wealth or children can be beneficial in life, it can also be difficult to manage at times because of all the responsibilities associated with it. Therefore, one should always remember to thank Allah for these blessings but also remain humble when faced with difficulties related to them.
