Moderation in Sermon Length

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ used to deliver sermons standing, then sitting, and then standing again while reciting verses and remembering Allah. His sermons were of moderate length as well as his prayer.

It was narrated that Jabir bin Samurah said: "The Prophet used to deliver the khutbah standing, then he would sit, then he would stand up and recite some Verses and remember Allah, the Mighty and Sublime. His khutbah was moderate in length and his prayer was moderate in length".

QUICK LESSONS:
Deliver sermons with moderation . Remember Allah during prayers or sermons .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of moderation in sermon length. It was narrated by Jabir bin Samurah that the Prophet used to deliver his khutbah standing, then he would sit down, and then stand up again while reciting some verses from the Quran and remembering Allah. His khutbah was moderate in length as well as his prayer. This hadith teaches us that we should be moderate when delivering a sermon or praying; neither too long nor too short but just enough to convey our message effectively without wasting time unnecessarily. We should also remember Allah during our prayers or sermons so that we can stay focused on Him throughout our worshiping session.
