Prayer Posture of the Prophet Muhammad

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's prayer posture and how it should be emulated.

It was narrated that 'Ali bin Abdur-Rahman said: "Ibn Umar saw me playing with the pebbles while praying. When he finished (praying), he told me not to do that and said: 'Do what the Messenger of Allah used to do'. I said: 'What did he used to do?' He said: 'When he sat during the prayer, he placed his right hand on his thigh and clenched all his fingers, and pointed with the finger that is next to the thumb, and he put his left hand on his left thigh".

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow in the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad when it comes to prayer by placing your right hand on your thigh and pointing with your finger next to your thumb while putting your left hand on your left thigh .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of following in the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad when it comes to prayer. It was narrated by Ali bin Abdur-Rahman that Ibn Umar saw him playing with pebbles while praying and told him not to do that. He then explained what the Messenger of Allah used to do when he prayed - he would place his right hand on his thigh and clench all his fingers except for one which he would point with, while placing his left hand on his left thigh. This posture is important as it shows respect for Allah and helps us focus our attention on Him during prayer. It also serves as a reminder that we are in His presence when we pray.
