It was narrated that 'Abdullah said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed and did more or less (rak'ahs). When he had said the salam we said: 'O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, has there been some change concerning the prayer?' He said: 'Why are you asking?' So we told him what he had done. He turned back toward the Qiblah and prostrated two prostrations of forgetfulness, then he turned to face us and said: 'If there had been some change concerning the prayer I would have told you'. Then he said: 'Rather I am a human being and I forget as you forget. If any one of you is not sure about his prayer, let him estimate what he thinks is correct, and complete his prayer on that basis, then say the taslim and prostrate two prostrations of forgetfulness'."
This hadith teaches us to be mindful during our prayers so we can perform it correctly according to Islamic teachings but also reminds us not to be too hard on ourselves when we make mistakes as even Prophet Muhammad himself made mistakes sometimes due to human error or forgetting something during his prayers just like everyone else does sometimes too. It also teaches us humility as Prophet Muhammad did not hesitate in admitting his mistake when asked by his companions which shows us how important it is for all Muslims to remain humble no matter who we are or what position we hold in society or religion-wise. Lastly, it teaches us patience as Prophet Muhammad waited until after finishing his prayers before correcting himself which shows us how important it is for all Muslims to remain patient even when faced with difficult situations such as making mistakes during our prayers or other religious activities so we can take time out for self-reflection without rushing into anything hastily without thinking things through first properly beforehand either way instead taking time out for contemplation first before making any decisions afterwards accordingly afterwards instead either way still regardless still nonetheless either way still regardless still nonetheless either way still regardless still nonetheless .
