The Seven Parts of Prostration

SUMMARY: Prostration is an act of worship in which seven parts of the body are involved.

It was narrated from 'Abbas bin 'Abdul-Muttalib that: He heard the Messenger of Allah say: "When a person prostrates, seven parts of his body prostrate with him: his forehead, his two hands, his two knees and his two feet".

EXPLANATIONS:
Prostration, or sujud, is an act of worship in Islam that involves seven parts of the body. According to a hadith narrated by 'Abbas bin 'Abdul-Muttalib, the Prophet Muhammad said that when a person prostrates, their forehead, two hands, two knees and two feet all prostrate with them. This means that when we perform sujud during prayer or any other time we should make sure to keep all these body parts on the ground at once. This shows us how important it is to be mindful and present during our acts of worship so that we can get the most out of them. It also teaches us about humility and submission before Allah as we put our entire being into this one act.
