Reciting Verses of the Quran During Friday Prayers

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to recite certain verses from the Quran during his Friday morning prayer.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that: The Messenger of Allah used to recite: "Alif-Lam-Mim. The revelation of the Book" and: "Has there not been over man" in Subh prayer on Friday.
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ح وَأَنْبَأَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلاَةِ الصُّبْحِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ‏{‏ الم * تَنْزِيلُ ‏}‏ وَ ‏{‏ هَلْ أَتَى

The hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah tells us that the Prophet Muhammad used to recite certain verses from the Quran during his Friday morning prayer. This is a reminder for us to take time out of our day and dedicate it to worshipping Allah through reciting His words. It also serves as an example for us on how we should spend our Fridays in remembrance of Allah and His teachings. We can learn from this hadith that we should strive to make every day a day dedicated to worshipping Allah and remembering Him through reciting His words. Additionally, this hadith teaches us that we should take time out of our busy lives and dedicate it solely for worshiping Allah in order to stay connected with Him spiritually.
