Sunan an-Nasai 453 (Book 5, Hadith 6) #15061
Completion of Prayer for Residents

SUMMARY: The Salah (prayer) was initially two Rak'ahs (units of prayer) and remained the same while travelling, but when one is resident, it should be made complete.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "The first time the Salah was enjoined it was two Rak'ahs, and it remained as such when traveling, but the Salah while resident was made complete".

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray regularly with full concentration according to Islamic teachings depending on your circumstances at any given time .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that the initial form of prayer was two Rak’ahs. This means that each prayer would consist of two units or cycles. However, when a person is living in a certain place and not travelling, then they must make their prayers complete by adding more units to it. This means that if someone is living in a certain place for an extended period of time, then they must add more units to their prayers so that it becomes complete according to Islamic teachings. The importance here lies in the fact that Muslims are required to pray five times a day and this hadith explains how many units should be included in each prayer depending on whether one is travelling or not.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us about the importance of praying regularly and with full concentration so as to reap its benefits both spiritually and physically. He also taught us how many units should be included in each prayer depending on our circumstances at any given time which shows his great attention to detail even when it comes to matters related to worshiping Allah SWT .
