Ritual of Ghusl from Janabah

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ performed Ghusl from Janabah, which included washing his private part, rubbing his hands on the ground or wall, performing Wudu' as for prayer and pouring water over his head and body.

It was narrated that Maimunah, the wife of the Prophet , said: "The Prophet performed Ghusl from Janabah; he washed his private part then rubbed his hand on the ground or the wall, then he performed Wudu' as for prayer, then he poured water over his head and the rest of his body".
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَتِ اغْتَسَلَ النَّبِيُّ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ فَغَسَلَ فَرْجَهُ وَدَلَكَ يَدَهُ بِالأَرْضِ أَوِ الْحَائِطِ ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلاَةِ ثُمَّ أَفَاضَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ وَسَائِرِ جَسَدِهِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains how to perform a ritual known as ‘Ghusl from Janabah’. It is a ritual that is done when one has become impure or unclean due to certain activities such as sexual intercourse or menstruation. The first step in this ritual is to wash one's private parts with water. Then one must rub their hands on either the ground or a wall before performing an ablution known as ‘Wudu’ which involves washing certain parts of the body such as face, arms and feet with water. Finally, one must pour water over their head and body in order to complete this ritual. This hadith teaches us about cleanliness and purification through rituals prescribed by Islam which are important for spiritual growth and development.
