Embracing During Menstruation

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) would embrace his wives when they were menstruating, and advised them to wrap a wide Izar around themselves.

Jumai' bin 'Umair said: "I entered upon 'Aishah with my mother and maternal aunt, and we asked her what the Prophet used to do when one of (his wives) was menstruating. She said: He would tell us, when when of us menstruated, to wrap a wide Izar around herself then he would embrace her chest and breasts.

QUICK LESSONS:
Treat everyone with kindness and respect regardless of any physical or mental state they may be in; Respect those who are going through their menstrual cycle; Be considerate of others; Follow the advice given by the Prophet Muhammad PBUH .
EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Jumai' bin 'Umair tells us that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would embrace his wives when they were menstruating. He also advised them to wrap a wide Izar around themselves before he did so. This shows us that the Prophet was very considerate of his wives and respected their privacy even during this time. It also teaches us that we should be respectful of those who are going through their menstrual cycle, as it is a natural process for women and should not be seen as something shameful or embarrassing. We can learn from this hadith that we should treat everyone with kindness and respect regardless of any physical or mental state they may be in.
