Sunan an-Nasai 358 (Book 3, Hadith 10) #14964
Praying During Menstruation

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) advised a woman to not pray during her period and to purify herself after it ends in order to be able to pray.

It was narrated from 'Urwah that Fatimah bint Abi Hubaish narrated that she came to the Messenger of Allah and complained to him about bleeding. The Messenger of Allah said to her: "That is a vein, so when your period comes, do not pray, and when your period is over, purify yourself and pray in between one period and the next". Abu 'Abdur-Rahman said: Hisham bin 'Urwah reported this Hadith from 'Urwah, and he did not mention what Al-Mundhir mentioned in it.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the rulings of menstruation in Islam. It was narrated from 'Urwah that Fatimah bint Abi Hubaish came to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and complained about bleeding. The Prophet (PBUH) then informed her that this was a vein and instructed her not to pray during her period but rather purify herself when it ends so she can perform prayer in between one period and the next. This hadith teaches us that women should refrain from praying while they are on their periods as it is considered impure according to Islamic teachings. Additionally, women must take a ritual bath or ghusl after their periods end before they can resume praying again.
