This hadith emphasizes the importance of truthfulness and avoiding falsehood. It is narrated by Abu Sa’id Khudri that Allah's Messenger said, “Do not take down anything from me, and he who took down anything from me except the Qur'an, he should efface that and narrate from me, for there is no harm in it”. This means that we should only record what has been revealed in the Quran as it is divinely inspired and free of error or falsehood. Furthermore, if someone deliberately attributes any false statements to Allah's Messenger then they will find their abode in Hellfire as a punishment for their lies.
