The Significance of Medina's Plain Ground

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of Medina and its plain ground.

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah b. Rufai, with the same chain of transmitters (but with the addition of these words): " When I met Abu Ja'far I told him that she (simply) meant the plain ground. Thereupon Abu Ja'far said: No, by God, she meant the plain ground of Medina.
حَدَّثَنَاهُ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ رُفَيْعٍ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ وَفِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ فَلَقِيتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ فَقُلْتُ إِنَّهَا إِنَّمَا قَالَتْ بِبَيْدَاءَ مِنَ الأَرْضِ فَقَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ كَلاَّ وَاللَّهِ إِنَّهَا لَبَيْدَاءُ الْمَدِينَةِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the significance of the plain ground in Medina. It was narrated by 'Abdullah b. Rufai who said that when he met Abu Ja'far he told him that she meant the plain ground of Medina. Abu Ja'far then replied saying that it was indeed the plain ground of Medina and not just any other place. This hadith highlights how important and special this particular place is to Muslims as it holds a lot of religious significance for them.
