Sahih Muslim 2849b (Book 53, Hadith 51) #14235
Admission to Heaven and Hell

SUMMARY: This hadith speaks about the admission of people to Paradise and Hell, and how it will be announced that those admitted to Paradise are the inmates of Paradise.

Abu Sa'id reported Allah's Messenger as saying: When the inmates of Paradise would be admitted to Paradise and the inmates of Hell would be admitted to Hell, it would be said (to the inmates of Paradise): 0 inmates of Paradise. The rest of the hadith is the same but with this variation (that he only) said. That is the word of Allah, the Exalted. And he did not say: Then Allah's Messenger recited, and he did not make a mention of his having pointed with his hand towards the (material) world.

QUICK LESSONS:
Accept God's judgement with humility.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the admission of people into either Heaven or Hell. It is said that when those admitted into Heaven enter it they will be called 'inmates of Paradise'. Similarly when those admitted into Hell enter it they will be called 'inmates of Hell'. The hadith also mentions that this is the word of Allah and He did not mention His Messenger pointing towards the material world. This implies that Allah's judgement is absolute and no one can influence it in any way. It also teaches us to accept Allah's judgement with humility as we cannot change what has been decided by Him.
