Sahih Muslim 2844b (Book 53, Hadith 37) #14221
Reaching the Destination of Good Deeds

SUMMARY: The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught that when a person does something good, it will reach its destination and be heard.

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Abfi Huraira with the same chain of transmitters but with this change of wording that the Prophet (may. peace be upon him) said: It reached at its base and you heard its sound.

QUICK LESSONS:
Do good deeds with sincerity & dedication

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that when we do something good, it will reach its destination and be heard. It is a reminder to us to always strive for goodness in our lives, as our actions have consequences. We should not think that our deeds are insignificant or go unnoticed; rather, they will reach their intended destination and make an impact on those around us. Furthermore, this hadith encourages us to take responsibility for our actions and strive for excellence in all aspects of life.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also taught that we should not only focus on the outcome of our deeds but also on the process itself; if we put effort into doing something with sincerity and dedication then Allah SWT will reward us accordingly. He ﷺ said “Verily Allah does not look at your bodies nor your appearances but He looks at your hearts and your deeds” [Sahih Muslim]. Therefore, even if we don’t see immediate results from our efforts, Allah SWT knows what is in our hearts and He rewards those who strive for excellence in their deeds.
