Practice moderation while preaching/teaching/lecturing

This hadith highlights the importance of moderation in preaching. Abdullah was a preacher who gave sermons on Thursdays, but when asked to do so every day, he refused because he did not want people to become bored with his lectures. This teaches us that it is important for preachers and teachers alike to practice moderation in their teachings and lectures; if they go too far or talk too much about a certain topic, then people may become disinterested or even bored with the material being presented. Furthermore, this hadith also shows us the importance of considering other people's feelings; Abdullah was aware that if he preached every day then his audience might get tired of hearing him speak and thus decided against it out of consideration for them.
