The Similitude of Disbelievers

SUMMARY: The similitude of a disbeliever is like that of a cypress tree.

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ibn Ka'b through another chain of transmitters but with " "the similitude of the disbeliever is that of a cypress tree".

QUICK LESSONS:
Have faith in Allah
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the comparison between a disbeliever and a cypress tree. A cypress tree is tall and straight but it does not bear any fruit or flowers. Similarly, those who do not believe in Allah are also like this; they may appear to be strong and upright on the outside but they lack faith in Allah and His teachings which makes them barren spiritually. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to have faith in Allah so that we can reap the rewards of our good deeds in this life as well as the hereafter. We should also remember that those who do not believe will be punished for their disbelief on the Day of Judgment.
