Sahih Muslim 2756c (Book 50, Hadith 30) #14049
The Consequences of Transgression

SUMMARY: A servant committed sins and Allah asked them to return what they had taken.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying that a servant transgressed the limit in committing sins. The rest of the hadith is the same but there is no mention of the story of the cat in it and in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Ziibaidl (the words are): " Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, said to everything which had taken a part of lies ashes to return what it had taken".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be mindful of your actions; Strive towards doing good deeds; Follow the limits set by God; Do not take things without permission

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the consequences of transgression, which is a form of sinning. It tells us that if we do something wrong, Allah will ask us to return what we have taken. This means that if we take something from someone without permission or do something wrong, then Allah will ask us to give it back or make up for it in some way. We should always be mindful of our actions and think twice before doing anything wrong because there are consequences for our actions. We should also remember that Allah is watching over us and knows when we do something wrong so it's important to try our best not to transgress any limits set by Him.

The lesson here is that even though it may seem like no one else knows when you do something wrong, Allah does know and He will hold you accountable for your actions so it's important to always strive towards doing good deeds instead of bad ones.
