Supplication of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the supplication that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to make, seeking refuge from Allah for the evil of what he has done and not done.

Farwa' b. Naufal reported: I asked 'A'isha about the supplication that Allah's Messenger made. She said that he used to say:" O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from the evil of what I have done and from the evil of what I have not done".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ هِلاَلٍ، عَنْ فَرْوَةَ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ دُعَاءٍ، كَانَ يَدْعُو بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فَقَالَتْ كَانَ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا عَمِلْتُ وَشَرِّ مَا لَمْ أَعْمَلْ

This hadith speaks about a special supplication that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to make, seeking refuge from Allah for the evil of what he has done and not done. It is a reminder for us to seek forgiveness from Allah for our wrongdoings and mistakes, no matter how small they may be. We should always remember that we are accountable for all our actions in this life, so it is important to ask forgiveness from Allah regularly in order to stay on the right path. This hadith also teaches us humility; even though Prophet Muhammad was sinless, he still asked forgiveness from Allah out of humility and respect. We should strive to emulate this example in our own lives by humbly asking forgiveness whenever we have wronged someone or made a mistake.
