The Bigger Picture

SUMMARY: It is important to not get too caught up in details and instead focus on the bigger picture.

Abdullah reported Allah's Messenger as saying: Ruined, were those who indulged in hair-splitting. He (the Holy Prophet) repeated this thrice.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ، جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَتِيقٍ، عَنْ طَلْقِ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ، عَنِ الأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ هَلَكَ الْمُتَنَطِّعُونَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَهَا ثَلاَثًا
