Sahih Muslim 2638a (Book 45, Hadith 204) #13782
Connections of Souls

SUMMARY: The souls of people are connected to each other in the world, based on their relationships in the Heavens.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger Saying: Souls are troops collected together and those who familiarised with each other (in the heaven from where these come) would have affinity, with one another (in the world) and those amongst them who opposed each other (in the Heaven) would also be divergent (in the world).

QUICK LESSONS:
Try to understand and accept differences between us; Strive for peace & harmony among all mankind.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that our souls have a connection with each other, based on our relationships in the heavens. It is believed that before we come to this world, we already have connections with certain people and those connections will be reflected here on earth. This hadith teaches us that even though we may not know why we feel a certain way towards someone or why some people just don't get along, it could be because of their relationship in the heavens. We should try to understand and accept these differences between us and strive for peace and harmony among all mankind.
