The Virtue of Visiting the Sick

SUMMARY: Visiting the sick is a virtuous act that can bring one closer to Paradise.

Abu Rabi' reported directly from Allah's Apostle (may peace upon him) as saying: The one who visits the sick is in fact like one who is in the fruit garden of Paradise so long as he does not return.

QUICK LESSONS:
Visit people who are ill with compassion and kindness. Show your care and concern for them even if you cannot help or cure them directly.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the virtue of visiting those who are ill. It encourages us to visit those who are sick, as it is an act that brings us closer to Paradise. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that whoever visits a sick person is like someone in a fruit garden in Paradise, so long as they do not return. This means that even if we cannot cure or help them, simply being present and showing our care and concern for them can be enough for us to reap rewards from Allah SWT. We should strive to make sure we visit our loved ones when they are ill, and also remember those who may not have anyone else around them during their time of need.
