QUICK LESSONS:
Call people by their father’s name; Respect your parents; Follow God’s will; Be fair/just/equitable

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that it is important to call people by the names of their fathers as this is more equitable with Allah according to the Qur'an. The hadith was narrated by Salim b. 'Abdullah and Qutaiba b. Sa'd who were in the habit of calling Zaid b. Harith as Zaid b. Muhammad until it was revealed in the Qur'an that calling them by their father's name is more equitable with Allah, which means fairer and juster according to God's will and judgement. It teaches us that we should respect our parents and ancestors, even if they are not alive anymore, because they are part of our identity and heritage which should be respected at all times no matter what happens or changes in life circumstances or situations.
