This hadith speaks about how Prophet Muhammad used to conform his behaviour to that of the People of the Book in matters where he received no command from God. Specifically, it talks about how they used to let their hair fall on their foreheads and polytheists used to part them on their heads, and so Prophet Muhammad followed suit by letting his hair fall upon his forehead before parting it. This hadith teaches us that we should be respectful towards other religions and cultures as long as it does not go against Islamic teachings. We should also strive for harmony between different communities and respect each other’s beliefs even if we do not agree with them.
