Sahih Muslim 2308a (Book 43, Hadith 68) #13093
Generosity of The Prophet Muhammad During Ramadan

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the most generous person in charity, especially during the month of Ramadan. Every year during Ramadan, Gabriel (peace be upon him) would meet with the Prophet and recite the Quran to him. During this time, the Prophet was very generous in giving charity like a blowing wind.

Ibn 'Abbas reported that Allah's Messenger was the most generous of people in charity, but he was generous to the utmost in the month of Ramadan. Gabriel (peace be upon him) would meet him every year during the month of Ramadin until it ended, and Allah's Messenger recited to him the Qur'an; and when Gabriel met him Allah's Messenger was most generous in giving charity like the blowing wind.
