Show mercy towards all creatures as much as possible and take precautions when dealing with any type of snake so that we do not get hurt or put ourselves at risk unnecessarily.

This hadith is about Allah's Messenger forbidding the killing of snakes found in houses, except for short-tailed snakes and those with streaks on them. These two types of snake can cause harm to people by obliterating eyesight and affecting what is in the wombs of pregnant women. It is important to remember that even though these two types are dangerous, it does not mean that all other types should be killed either; rather we should show mercy towards all creatures as much as possible.
