Responding to Plague

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the plague and how one should respond to it.

Usama b. Zaid reported that Allah's Messenger had said: Plague is the sign of a calamity with which Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, affects people from His servants. So when you hear about it, don't enter there (where it has broken out), and when it has broken out in a land and you are there, then don't run away from it.

QUICK LESSONS:
Hear news of a plague outbreak without entering there; Take precautions and follow safety guidelines; Be patient; Trust in God's plan; Stay safe for yourself and others around you .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how one should respond when they hear news of a plague outbreak. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that when people hear news of a plague outbreak in a certain area, they should not enter that area. However, if they are already in an area where the plague has broken out then they should not run away from it. This teaches us that we must be patient and trust in God's plan even during difficult times like plagues or other calamities. We must also remember to take precautions and follow safety guidelines set by authorities so as to protect ourselves and others from harm's way.
