Sahih al-Bukhari 1330 (Book 23, Hadith 85) #1277
Taking Graves of Prophets as Places for Praying

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) warned against taking the graves of Prophets as places for praying, as it would lead to Allah's curse.

Narrated 'Urwa: Aisha said, "The Prophet in his fatal illness said, 'Allah cursed the Jews and the Christians because they took the graves of their Prophets as places for praying"'. Aisha added, "Had it not been for that, the grave of the Prophet (pbuh) would have been made prominent but I am afraid it might be taken (as a) place for praying.

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect all prophets sent by God ; Worship only God ; Follow teachings of Islam strictly .

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, narrated by 'Urwa and Aisha, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ warned against taking the graves of Prophets as places for praying. He said that if people did so, Allah would curse them. This is because it could lead to idolatry or shirk - worshipping something other than Allah - which is a major sin in Islam. The Prophet ﷺ was concerned that his own grave might be taken as a place for prayer, so he wanted to make sure people knew not to do this. He wanted us to remember that only Allah should be worshipped and no one else should be given any kind of special status or reverence in our hearts or minds.
