EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of having fear of Allah in our lives. It is reported on the authority of Sulaiman b. Bilal that he said, “The best condiment” and he did not doubt about this word. In other words, the best thing to add to our lives is the fear of God or taqwa as it is known in Arabic. This means that we should always be mindful and conscious that God knows what we are doing and will hold us accountable for it on Judgment Day. We should strive to do good deeds and stay away from bad ones so that we can be rewarded by Him in this life and hereafter. Having taqwa also helps us stay away from sins which can lead us astray from His path, so it is important for us to have this quality in order to remain close to Him at all times.
