The Prohibition of Intoxicants

SUMMARY: Intoxicants are forbidden.

Ibn 'Umar, through another chain of transmitters; reported Allah's Messenger having said this: Every intoxicant is Khamr and every intoxicant is forbidden.
وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ كِلاَهُمَا عَنْ رَوْحِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ خَمْرٌ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of intoxicants, such as alcohol. It was narrated by Ibn 'Umar, who reported that Allah's Messenger said that every intoxicant is Khamr and every intoxicant is forbidden. This means that all types of alcohol are prohibited and should not be consumed or used in any way.
