Prohibition of Preparing Nabidh in a Green Pitcher

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the prohibition of preparing Nabidh in a green pitcher.

Thabit reported: I said to Ibn 'Umar that Allah's Messenger had forbidden the preparation of Nabidh in the green pitcher (besmeared with pitch). He said: This is what they stated. I said: Did Allah's Messenger forbid this? He said: They said so.
وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لاِبْنِ عُمَرَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ قَالَ فَقَالَ قَدْ زَعَمُوا ذَاكَ ‏.‏ قُلْتُ أَنَهَى عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَدْ زَعَمُوا ذَاكَ
