Forbidden Mixtures in Nabidh Preparation

SUMMARY: Allah's Apostle forbade the mixing of dates and grapes together, and mixing of unripe dates and ripe dates together for preparing Nabidh.

Ibn 'Abbas reported that Allah's Apostle forbade the mixing of dates and grapes together, and mixing of unripe dates and ripe dates together (for preparing Nabidh), and he wrote to the people of Jurash (in Yemen) forbidding them to prepare the mixture of dates and grapes.
وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ نَهَى النَّبِيُّ أَنْ يُخْلَطَ التَّمْرُ وَالزَّبِيبُ جَمِيعًا وَأَنْ يُخْلَطَ الْبُسْرُ وَالتَّمْرُ جَمِيعًا وَكَتَبَ إِلَى أَهْلِ جُرَشَ يَنْهَاهُمْ عَنْ خَلِيطِ التَّمْرِ وَالزَّبِيبِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of mixing certain ingredients when preparing a drink called nabidh. The Prophet Muhammad wrote to the people of Jurash in Yemen, forbidding them from combining dates and grapes when making this drink. He also prohibited them from mixing unripe dates with ripe ones. This hadith teaches us that we should be mindful about what we consume, as it can have an effect on our health. It also shows us that we should be careful not to mix things which are not meant to be mixed together, as it could lead to undesirable results or consequences. We should always strive for balance in all aspects of our lives, including what we eat or drink.
