The Making of Wine

SUMMARY: Wine is made from the fruits of two trees, date-palm and vine.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger having said: Wine is prepared from the (fruit) of these two trees-date-palm and vine.
حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَبِي، عُثْمَانَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا كَثِيرٍ، حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ الْخَمْرُ مِنْ هَاتَيْنِ الشَّجَرَتَيْنِ النَّخْلَةِ وَالْعِنَبَةِ
