Eating Game Shot with an Arrow

SUMMARY: It is permissible to eat game that has been shot with an arrow, provided it has not gone rotten.

Abu Tha'laba reported Allah's Messenger having said this: If you shoot with your arrow and (the game) goes out of your sight and you find it (later on), then eat that if it has not gone rotten.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about hunting and eating game that has been shot with an arrow. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that if we shoot at a game animal and it runs away, but we find it later on, then we can eat the animal as long as it hasn't gone rotten. This teaches us to be mindful of our actions and to take responsibility for them. We should also be aware of the condition of the food we are consuming so that our health is not compromised. Furthermore, this hadith reminds us to be respectful of animals and their lives by only hunting when necessary and in accordance with Islamic law.
