QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for humility and modesty; Be grateful for Allah's greatness; Avoid feelings or thoughts of superiority

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Hammam b. Munabbih on the authority of Abu Huraira, warns us against having even a small amount of pride in our hearts as it will prevent us from entering paradise. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used the example of a mustard seed to illustrate how little pride can have an effect on our spiritual wellbeing and afterlife. This hadith teaches us that we should strive to remain humble and not let any feelings or thoughts of superiority enter our hearts as this could lead to eternal damnation in the hereafter. We should also remember that Allah is All-Knowing and All-Powerful, so no matter what we achieve or how much knowledge we acquire, it is nothing compared to His greatness and power over all things.
