Receiving Extra Camels from the Prophet Muhammad

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad gave extra camels to his followers, and Salim was given a Sharif, which is a big old camel.

A hadith has been narrated by Salim who learnt it from his father and said: The Messenger of Allah gave us an extra (camel) besides our share of Khums; (and in this extra share) I got a Sharif (and a Sharif is a big old camel).

QUICK LESSONS:
Be generous with your possessions; Share them with those in need; Use your blessings wisely for yourself and others around you.

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd tells us about the generosity of the Prophet Muhammad. He gave extra camels to his followers in addition to their share of Khums. Salim was given a special camel called a Sharif, which is an old and large camel. This hadith teaches us that we should be generous with our possessions and share them with others who are in need. It also shows us that we should be grateful for what we have been blessed with and use it wisely for the benefit of ourselves and others around us.
