The Prophet's Curse on the Tribes of Medina

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) cursed the tribes who marched upon Medina and asked Allah to defeat them.

It is narrated on the authority of Ibn Abu Aufa that the Messenger of Allah cursed the tribes (who had marched upon Medina with a combined force in 5 H) and said: O Allah, Revealer of the Book, swift in (taking) account, put the tribes to rout. O Lord, defeat them and shake them.
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى، قَالَ دَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَلَى الأَحْزَابِ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ مُنْزِلَ الْكِتَابِ سَرِيعَ الْحِسَابِ اهْزِمِ الأَحْزَابَ اللَّهُمَّ اهْزِمْهُمْ وَزَلْزِلْهُمْ

This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's reaction to a group of tribes that marched upon Medina with a combined force in 5 H. He cursed them and asked Allah to put them to rout and defeat them. This hadith teaches us that we should not take any action against our fellow Muslims without consulting with each other first. It also teaches us that we should always seek help from Allah in times of difficulty and ask Him for His protection. We should also remember that no matter how powerful our enemies may be, if we have faith in Allah then He will protect us from all harm.
