Follow justice and equality while punishing someone according to Islamic Law

This hadith discusses the punishment of stoning to death in Islam, which is mentioned in the Quran as a form of punishment for adultery. According to this hadith, Abdullah b. Abu Aufi was asked if this punishment was awarded before or after the revelation of Sura al-Nur, but he did not know for sure. This shows that even though stoning is a form of punishment prescribed by Islamic law, it should only be carried out when there is clear evidence that an act has been committed and that all other forms of punishments have been exhausted first. It also shows that Islamic law does not condone any kind of injustice or oppression against anyone regardless their religion or beliefs.
