The Oneness of Allah

SUMMARY: This hadith emphasizes the importance of worshipping Allah and not associating any partners with Him.

This hadith has been reported on the authority of A'mash with the same chain of narrators but with a slight variation of words, i. e. he did not say: By Him besides Whom there is no god.
وَحَدَّثَنِي حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الشَّاعِرِ، وَالْقَاسِمُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّاءَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ شَيْبَانَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، بِالإِسْنَادَيْنِ جَمِيعًا ‏.‏ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ سُفْيَانَ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرَا فِي الْحَدِيثِ قَوْلَهُ ‏ "‏ وَالَّذِي لاَ إِلَهَ غَيْرُهُ

It emphasizes that there is no god besides Allah and He should be worshipped without any doubt or hesitation. We should always remember that He is the only one who deserves our worship and we should never forget this fact even for a moment.

The hadith also reminds us that we must always be mindful of our actions as they will determine our fate in the hereafter. We must strive to do good deeds so that we can receive rewards from Allah for them in the afterlife.
