Donate up to 1/3rd your property for charity purposes if you are able to do so without compromising your own needs or those around you .

This hadith discusses the limits of donating one's property to others. It is narrated by Mus'ab b. Sa'd on the authority of his father that he was ailing and wanted to give away all his property as he liked, but Prophet Muhammad refused this request and asked him to limit it to half or one-third instead. The Prophet remained silent after this request, which implies that giving away up to one-third of one's property is permissible in Islam. This hadith teaches us that we should be generous with our wealth and help those in need, but at the same time we should not be too extravagant with our donations and keep some for ourselves as well so that we can take care of our own needs too.
