Learning & Teaching Quran

SUMMARY: The best people are those who learn and teach the Quran.

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Sufyan b. Abu Zuhair al-Shana'i.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ، وَابْنُ، حُجْرٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ، خُصَيْفَةَ أَخْبَرَنِي السَّائِبُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، أَنَّهُ وَفَدَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُفْيَانُ بْنُ أَبِي زُهَيْرٍ الشَّنَئِيُّ فَقَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ بِمِثْلِهِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how important it is to learn and teach the Quran. It was narrated by Sufyan b. Abu Zuhair al-Shana’i that he heard Prophet Muhammad saying that “the best of you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it”. This hadith emphasizes on learning and teaching the Quran as a way to become better people in this life as well as in afterlife or Akhirah. It also shows us how important knowledge is for our spiritual growth, which can only be achieved through learning and teaching what we have learned from others or from books like Quran itself. By doing so, we can become better Muslims by understanding our religion more deeply and living according to its teachings in our daily lives.
