QUICK LESSONS:
Be careful with your actions, Guard fields or animals if necessary.
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the consequences of keeping a dog, other than one used to guard fields or animals, as it will lead to the loss of one qirat from one's deeds every day. A qirat is an amount that is difficult to measure but it is said that it is equivalent to half of what can fill the heavens and earth combined. This means that if someone keeps a pet dog, they are losing out on an immense amount of reward from Allah each day. It teaches us that we should be careful with our actions and not do anything which may lead us away from gaining rewards in this life and hereafter.
