Sahih al-Bukhari 1150 (Book 19, Hadith 31) #1110
The Importance of Praying with Vigor

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of praying as long as one is able to, and not relying on external aids such as a rope.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: Once the Prophet (pbuh) entered the Mosque and saw a rope hanging in between its two pillars. He said, "What is this rope?" The people said, "This rope is for Zainab who, when she feels tired, holds it (to keep standing for the prayer)" The Prophet said, "Don't use it. Remove the rope. You should pray as long as you feel active, and when you get tired, sit down".

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray with vigor and enthusiasm ; Take care of one's health while performing religious duties ; Understand when it is better to rest than push oneself too hard
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith highlights the importance of prayer in Islam. It teaches us that we should pray with vigor and enthusiasm, and not rely on external aids such as a rope to keep us standing for prayer. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was concerned about Zainab's wellbeing, but he wanted her to understand that she should only pray when she feels active and energetic. When she gets tired, it is better for her to sit down instead of relying on an external aid like a rope. This hadith also teaches us that we should take care of our health while performing religious duties; if we are too tired or ill, then it is better for us to rest instead of pushing ourselves too hard.
