The Importance of Not Mentioning Divorcee's Allowance

SUMMARY: Aisha advises Fatima not to mention the lack of lodging and maintenance allowance for divorced women.

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) said: It is no good for Fatima to make mention of it, i. e. her statement:" There is no lodging and maintenance allowance (for the divorced women)".
وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ مَا لِفَاطِمَةَ خَيْرٌ أَنْ تَذْكُرَ هَذَا ‏.‏ قَالَ تَعْنِي قَوْلَهَا لاَ سُكْنَى وَلاَ نَفَقَةَ
